Catholic formation for children comes from many sources within the parish life including Sunday Mass, prayer and living a Catholic way of life in the home. In addition, Divine Mercy Parish offers faith formation for children in Kindergarten through 12th grade.K-5th grade: Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15am. Divine Mercy offers a two year Sacramental preparation program for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion in 1st and 2nd grade. Students participate in these Sacraments for the first time in 2nd grade.6th & 8th grade Confirmation Preparation: Sunday evenings from 6:15-7:30. Once a month 7th & 8th grade students will join with the Life Teen students for dinner beginning at 6pm. Confirmation preparation begins in 7th grade. Students are Confirmed in the early spring of their 8th grade year.9th-12th grade Youth Group: Sunday evenings beginning at 6pm with dinner. Students are encouraged to attend the 5pm Sunday evening Mass together as a group. CATECHISTS: Volunteer catechists are called to be “echoers” of Christ. Catechists should be practicing Catholics who participate fully in the communal worship and life of the Church and who have been prepared by appropriate catechetical teaching.
