The general offertory, or collection is the primary means by which the parish receives financial support from parishioners. It is an expression of our gratitude to God for the blessings He has given us to return a portion of it back to Him for use by His church.
Donations collected through our 50/50 fund go toward paying off our building debt. Drawings are held each week on Wednesdays and the recommended donation amount is $5. The pot continues to grow until there is a winner. Please see the bulletin for the current pot amount.
As Catholics, we are called to support not just our parish family, but also our larger community. Extra parochial collections are managed by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. Please see this year’s collection schedule below.
The Offertory, or Collection, on Holy Days is an integral part of the liturgy because it is an expression of our gratitude to God for the blessings He has given us. It also assists with the additional expenses that are incurred by the parish during these “busier” seasons. Holy Days of Obligation are January 1st (Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God), August 15th (Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary), November 1st (All Saints Day), December 8th (Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary) and December 25th (Solemnity of the Nativity of our Lord, Jesus Christ).
